CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION OF ABSTRACTS

Please read the instructions carefully before filling in the application form. You may edit your saved abstracts until you submit them to the Scientific Committee.

  1. Only English language should be used.
  2. Abstracts should not exceed 300 words.
  3. The full title should not exceed 25 words.
  4. The details of the main author, presenting author and co-author(s) including their affiliations should be provided. Email address and contact number of the presenting author is required. The presenting author’s name will be underlined in the final abstract.
  5. Indicate the mode of presentation either oral or poster presentation. The final decision on the slotting of the presentation, however, lies with the Scientific Committee.
  6. Identify the most suitable tracks for the abstract. The choice of tracks is;
    • Basic Science
    • Childhood and Adolescent Obesity
    • Epidemiology, Diet, Activity and Behaviour
    • Obesity Treatment and Management
    • Public Health and Policy
  7. When appropriate, state objectives of the paper, methods used and summary of results in enough details to support conclusions. Please include a maximum of three keywords. References, tables, structural formula or acknowledgement should not be included. You may refer to the sample abstract provided. Please ensure that your abstract text is uploaded in the relevant section of the submission system.
  1. We urge all abstract authors to use person-first-language when referring to all chronic diseases, including but not limited to obesity, diabetes, cancer, and hypertension.
  2. Please note that MASO and AOASO encourage full disclosure of all relevant sources of funding in relation to abstracts submitted to this conference. If you wish to disclose a conflict of interest or any funding, please do so at the bottom section of the abstract submission.

  3. Deadline for the submission of abstracts is 31st December 2020.
  4. Please submit your abstract through the AOCO-MASO 2021 online submission system at www.aocomaso2021.com. Submission through email or fax will not be entertained.
